Voting Question: Recommendation for using a Ferry to cross Lake Michigan.?

I am attending a wedding in Grand Rapids, MI leaving from Tomah, WI. I am debating on whether it would be more cost effective to take a ferry across Lake Michigan or if I should drive around through Chicago. Traffic doesn't bother me and isn't a concern just looking for the most cost effective route and the simpelist route.
